Performance Times:  11:30 am and 2:30 pm  (Each dancer will perform in ONE show)

Information for DAY OF SHOW:

We are very excited about our Spring performance on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at the Jo Long Theater at the Carver Cultural Center We hope that your dancers, family and friends are able to join us on such a wonderful day. We will make it a day to remember!

Please read below regarding the details for the show, hopefully, this will answer all your questions.

Please be on time for your performance.  We will not re-do a dance again if a dancer is late and there will be NO refunds if a dancer does not perform.

FEMALES

  • All female dancers must wear the costume that is picked for their class and school.  (NO underwear under costume – tights serve as under garment)
  • Either pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, tan jazz shoes or tennis shoes (based on dance)
  • Pink tights for ballet or tap.  Tan tights for Jazz.  No tights for Hip Hop
  • Hair should be in a neat ponytail – if there is a headpiece with your costume, please affix securely to hair – ONLY PROVIDED HEADPIECES will be allowed on stage (no personal bows or bands)
  • No nail polish or jewelry
BOYS

  • Male dancers should wear their own solid black pants and Costume Shirt
  • Either black ballet shoes, black tap shoes or black jazz shoes
  • No tights

NO DANCE BAGS BACKSTAGE, please have your child come to the check in area with their dance shoes already on their feet.  Please write your child’s name in his/ her dance shoes (just a precautionary measure). Girls’ hair should be in a neat pony tail. Please arrive dressed and ready to dance. Please do not wear dance shoes outside the theater venue.

ARRIVE/CHECK IN:

 All dancers must be back stage by their call time!!

Theater opens at 10:00 am

Dancers should arrive to the theater dressed in their costume.  Once in the theater, dancers should put their dance shoes on.  After they get photo taken (if desired) please have ONE parent/guardian bring dancer to check in table.  Dancer should not have any bags or other items with them when they check in.

We will begin checking in dancers backstage at 10:30 am.  Please have one parent bring dancer to the check in table located to the right of the stage no later than 11:00 am.  There will not be anyone stationed at the check in table after 11:00 am.

Flowers for Your Dancer

Will be available for purchase in lobby area

Photography

A professional photographer will be on site to take pictures of your dancer. Pictures are on a first come first serve basis. Pictures will start at 10:00 am and end at 10:55 am sharp. Dances will not be held for a dancer having their picture taken.

Costumes:

The manufacturers of these costumes make them to fit the average child, as you will notice some of the costumes will fit the kids perfectly and others will have to be taken in because they are slightly too big. We measured each child and ordered the costumes size based on the recommendation of the manufacturers. If you feel your child’s costume needs alterations it is your responsibility to do this. Move & Groove is not capable of alterations. However, if your child’s costume is excessively too big or too small please contact us.

Videography:  

Move & Groove has not hired a professional videographer to video tape this performance. Therefore, if you choose to video tape your child; please do so with respect to other audience members in the theater. Please do not stand anywhere or block peoples view. There is no flash photography allowed. This is very distracting to performers.

Theater Etiquette:

Please be respectful of all performers and families. Do not enter or leave your seat until an intermission.  Applaud after each number.
